Senator Reinert, Chair, called the Legislative Audit Commission meeting to order at 1:37 p.m. The purpose of the meeting was to consider reappointing James Nobles to be Legislative Auditor for a six-year term and to consider approving Mr. Nobles’ appointment of Cecile Ferkul to be Deputy Legislative Auditor for the Financial Audit Division for a term coterminous with the term of the Legislative Auditor.
Representative Beard said the Executive Subcommittee unanimously approved recommending that the full Commission approve both appointments. Mr. Nobles made a few brief comments about the Office of the Legislative Auditor (OLA) and what he sees as challenges for OLA over the next several years.
Representative Beard moved to recommend the appointment of James Nobles as the Legislative Auditor for another six-year term and the appointment of Cecile Ferkul as the Deputy Legislative Auditor for the Financial Audit Division for a term coterminous with the term of the Legislative Auditor. The motion prevailed and the appointments were confirmed.
Mr. Nobles thanked the commission and then added that there will be an Evaluation Subcommittee meeting the following Tuesday morning at 10:00 a.m., to hear the release of the evaluation Sustainable Forest Incentive Program.
With no further business, Senator Reinert adjourned the meeting at 1:59 p.m.
