State Building Code

This report evaluates the way Minnesota promulgates and enforces the state building code and recommends changes in the administration of the code. Offering a range of options to improve the building code's administration and its coordination with the fire code, the report recommends that building and fire officials should jointly approve building permits and proposed deviations from the overlapping portions of their codes as well as all certificates of occupancy.
