Representative Hansen, Chair, called the Legislative Audit Commission (LAC) meeting to order at 10:05 a.m. The purpose of the meeting was to release the program evaluation, Office of Minnesota Information Technology Services (MNIT).
Judy Randall, Deputy Legislative Auditor for the Program Evaluation Division, introduced herself and gave a brief statement about the evaluation. Ms. Randall turned to Joel Alter, Director of Special Reviews, to present the overall conclusions and recommendations of the evaluation. Mr. Alter also responded to several members’ questions.
Due to another meeting, Representative Hansen turned the gavel over to Senator Koran, LAC Vice Chair, at 10:39 a.m.
William Poirier, Acting Commissioner and State Chief Information Officer of the Office of Minnesota Information Technology Services (MNIT), addressed the commission members. Mr. Poirier said that MNIT agrees with the report recommendations, and that the report revealed key areas where the agency can take action to enable them and the executive branch to work better, smarter, and more cost-effectively together. Tu Tong, MNIT Chief Financial Officer, and Jon Eichten, MNIT Deputy Commissioner, joined Mr. Poirier at the table to answer members’ questions.
With no further business, Senator Koran adjourned the meeting at 11:28 a.m.
