| Just Released Fiscal Notes (FEB 9) Our evaluation reviewed the state's process for estimating the impact of proposed legislation. We found that the process would benefit from clearer statutory requirements, more detailed explanations in fiscal notes of their assumptions, and better communication between legislators and agencies. Teachers Retirement Association (FEB 2) The Teachers Retirement Association’s financial statements for the year ended June 30, 2011, were fairly stated. Our report on internal controls and legal compliance included one prior finding that the association had not fully resolved. Notices OLA will release an evaluation report on, Child Protection Screening, at a meeting of the House Health and Human Services Reform Committee on Tuesday, February 21, 2:30 p.m. in Room 200 of the State Office Building. The report will be posted on this Web site at 1:30 p.m., and paper copies will be available at the committee meeting. The Topic Selection Subcommittee of the Legislative Audit Commission will be meeting on Monday, March 5, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. in room 400S State Office Building. This meeting will be a working session to select 8-10 evaluation topics for further consideration by the Subcommittee. OLA has released one-page updates on actions taken in response to seven evaluation reports. |
