Nursing Homes Rates in the
Upper Midwest

January 23, 1997

This report compares the rates charged to nursing home residents in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, and the Dakotas. It examines the reasons that Minnesota's rates are 15 to 30 percent higher than the other states, attributing most of the difference to higher levels of nursing care and higher nursing salaries in Minnesota.
