Metropolitan Mosquito
Control District

January 14, 1999

This report evaluates the performance of the Metropolitan Mosquito Control District, a seven-county agency that controls nuisance and disease-bearing mosquitoes and biting flies. The report presents evidence that the chemicals used by the District are generally safe and reasonably effective. Some of the agency's treatment policies and its rights to treat publicly owned natural resource land, however, need to be clarified or reconsidered.
