June 10, 2009Our evaluation found that the Governor’s 2008 executive order mandating the use of E-Verify—an electronic employment eligibility verification system—by some Minnesota employers has only been implemented in part. There are weaknesses in E-Verify that the federal government needs to address, but we recommend state government actions to assist Minnesota businesses and employees affected by the executive order.
