Policy on Program Evaluation Topic Selection

According to Minnesota Statutes 3.97, subd. 3a, the Commission selects the topics for OLA’s program evaluations. This policy provides criteria for consideration by the Commission in selecting topics. This policy also provides that, each year, the Commission will select at least one topic related to a smaller state entity, and one topic as a follow-up to a prior OLA program evaluation.

This policy sets out the process for an annual performance assessment of the Legislative Auditor. Primarily, the policy provides for the chair and vice-chair of the Commission to review the work of the Legislative Auditor and the organization and function of OLA.
