Office of the Legislative Auditor - Program Evaluation Division

The Legislative Audit Commission (LAC) has directed OLA to evaluate seven topics. OLA started work on the following four of the seven topics in Spring 2025, and we expect to release related reports in Winter/Early Spring 2026:

  1. Minnesota Department of Health: Assisted Living Facility Licensing
  2. Minnesota Agricultural Water Quality Certification Program (WQCP)
  3. Office of Ombudsperson for Families
  4. Voter Registration System (with an Office of the Secretary of State focus)

OLA began work on the following two of the seven topics in Fall 2025, and we expect to release related reports in Summer 2026:

  1. Automatic Voter Registration (with a Department of Public Safety focus)
  2. Minnesota Board of Public Defense

OLA will begin work on the remaining topics in 2026:

  1. Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Services in Public Schools
  2. Board of Animal Health (BAH) Oversight of Companion Animals
  3. DHS Office of Inspector General (OIG) Investigations
  4. State Regulation of Nursing Home Care
  5. Taxpayers' Transportation Accountability Act
